AmTrust Specialty Equipment Rental Damage Waiver

Rental Damage Waiver (RDW) is an agreement between the rental dealership and the rental customer that limits the rental customer's financial responsibility for loss or damage to rented equipment in exchange for a fee, subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and any applicable state law. This helps protect eligible equipment while out on rental.

Getting Started

  • Dealership applies for an insurance policy that provides physical damage insurance coverage for eligible equipment while out on rental
  • Approved dealerships are issued a Dealer Rental Equipment Policy, underwritten by AmTrust International Underwriters Limited with a $1,000 deductible per occurrence

Eligibility

Min. Equipment Value: $1,000

Max. Equipment Value: $250,000

  • Cotton pickers are NOT elegible
  • Combines are NOT eligible
  • Equipment used in forestry or logging applications is NOT eligible
  • Pre-approvals is REQUIRED for all crane rentals

Perils Covered by the Dealer Rental

Equipment Policy includes, but are not limited to:

  • Collision
  • Overturns
  • Earth quake
  • Theft
  • Fire
  • Tornado
  • Flood
  • Vandalism
  • Hail
  • Wind

Perils NOT Covered by the Dealer Rental

Equipment Policy includes, but are not limited to:

  • Misuse or abuse
  • Exceeding rated load capacity
  • Wear and tear
  • Mysterious disappearance
  • Improper maintenance
  • Mechanical breakdown
  • Ingestion of foreign objects

Program Information

  • For all equipment rentals, customers are required to either provide acceptable proof of physical damage insurance or purchase RDW
  • RDW base cost is 8% of the equipment rental charge for most agricultural industrial and construction equipment
  • Any dealer mark up above the base cost that is charged to the rental customer, is retained by the dealerships
  • RDW base cost are reported and paid monthly by participating dealerships to the Program Administrator
